UNCENSOR is an awareness project that aims at questioning censorship and creating an awareness about it in this democratic country. We believe in the freedom of speech and expression. With the country's history of taking offense and censoring every form of art and expression, We want to make sure that we do not head into a likeminded future.
Our target group are the young people of the country, from ages 18-25 as we feel these are the people who are at their most crucial stage right now. They have the power to question the society and create a free culture where no one is scared to have a strong opinion.
Keeping our target audience in mind, our brand needed a strong, dynamic online presence to reach out effectively.
So as we started brand identity design we thought that it was important to keep it simple and direct as an abstract concept wouldn’t have worked as well in talking to the people.
UNCENSOR for true democracy.
The tagline compliments the name to provide context and puts the message forward.
The brand identity is inspired from the Barricade Tape. Something used by the cops to restrict an area. It’s a restriction to what could be a very interesting situation/place.
So in our context, it keeps us from the complete picture. (How we hear rumors about, and try to put parts together) The curiosity stays. We as a democracy aren’t a crime scene, and we should not be kept away from anything. So the letters in the start and end are stepping up above that.
Conceptual ideas, campaigns and brand extensions to take the brand forward in order to grow and spread awareness for the cause.
